A song to honor those whose names are written on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, and those who served beside them.
Their names are here: Anderson, Martinez, Zapolski... Their stories are clear: Courage, commitment, self-sacrifice... All for the cause of a nation's liberty... All for the hope of a people's peace. We're standin' tall at the Wall, shoulder to shoulder with the ones who were called. We honor the fallen who gave us their all - their lives remembered upon the Wall.
Yes, we know the price of freedom. We have seen its deadly toll, and the stains of mud and blood are etched upon our souls. But by God's good grace we've come here to pay respects and to pray, that He may grant this country see an end to warring days.
We're standin' tall...
These soldiers did not die in vain. Now with granite lips they speak, nobly calling every man, "Seek justice for the weak! Lift the hand of the oppressor; halt the fear and end the strife. No greater gift a man can give to this than his whole life!"
We're standin' tall...
All for one and one for all, we're standin' tall; we're standin' tall. (repeat).
Spoken: More than 58,000 names are engraved upon the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. Each one represents the significant loss of a precious, individual human being who died in service to their country. Here are just a few of those names: Van Horn, Schultz, Davis, Hockensmith, Taylor, Phillips, Ortiz, Robinson, Yamashita, Williams, Ulibarri, Gonzales, Baker, Johnson, Xavier, Lewis, Kelly, Thomas, Clark, Evans, Ingram, Freeman, Howard, Adams...
We're standin' tall at the Wall, shoulder to shoulder with the ones who were called. We honor the fallen who gave us their all - their lives remembered upon the Wall.
