For all combat veterans in all authorized military actions on behalf of the United States
(working on a new recording of this version.)
You were just a young one when you were called to war, sent to fight for freedom upon a distant shore. You were put in harm's way ('cause "freedom is not free"*), to wrestle with the darkness that blackens history.
We have gathered here today to honor what you've done, defending our security through battles lost and won. You served in truth, with valor, no matter what the cost, and you died a thousand times when anyone was lost.
So, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I want to thank you. These words are just a start to thank you for your service, for the sacrifice you made, for your bravery, your courage, and for the price you paid. I want to thank you.
All our unsung heroes need the simple thanks they're due, to ease the painful memories of all they have been through. They performed their duty and followed each command, to help ensure the liberty of home and foreign lands.
America! America! God has given grace to thee! So crown this good with your brotherhood, from sea to shining sea! America! America! These vets served you and me.
So, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I want to thank you. These words are just a start to thank you for your service, for the sacrifice you made, for your bravery, your courage, and for the price you paid. I want to thank you.
I want to thank you. I want to thank you. I want to thank you. (repeat) America thanks you.
