The Vietnam War Memorial in Westminster, CA.

The Vietnam War Memorial will celebrate its third anniversary on April 25, 2006, and is a public/private enterprise effort to honor both the American and Vietnamese soldiers who fought for the freedom of the people in South Vietnam. More than 58,000 Americans died in this conflict, as well as over 300,000 South Vietnamese.

Westminster city councilman, Frank Fry, led the original drive to establish this memorial. You can see the beautiful bronze sculptures by the award winning artist Tuan Nguyen, below. The city of Westminster dedicated a 1.45 acre parcel for this remembrance, located at 14180 Monroe St. (near the corner of Monroe and 13th St.), adjacent to the Westminster Civic Center. The grounds of the memorial are now known as Freedom Park.

Vietnamese - friends and partners in the cause for freedom.
